What is LIG for Kids?

Life in Germany (LIG) for Kids is a cultural integration project that supports families in adapting to life in Germany through engaging stories, activities, and caregiver resources.

It was created to make cultural integration fun, emotional, and family-centered, helping children not only understand their new environment but also feel a genuine sense of belonging.

From books and activities to online communities and events, we aim to bridge the gap between cultures and empower parents, teachers, and children alike.

Life in Germany for Families

Language Barrier

Learning German can be challenging, especially for children. Overcoming this barrier is crucial for school, friendships, and daily life. With patience and the right support, children can thrive and gain the confidence they need to succeed.

Lack of Tailored Support

Children need stories and tools that meet them where they are. Providing tailored support helps them feel understood and empowered, ensuring they receive the guidance and encouragement necessary for their growth and confidence.

Lack of Parent Resources

Making new friends and adapting to German social norms can be difficult for both children and parents. We need the right tools to guide our children in understanding German culture, norms, and unspoken rules.

Easing the Transition to German Life with Engaging Stories

Our book series offers a gentle introduction to German culture and daily life. Through relatable stories and interactive activities, children and families can use these books as their own personal cultural integration toolkit to navigate their new environment with confidence and joy, making the adaptation process smoother and more enjoyable.
